About RCA
Riyadh Cricket Association was formed in the Year 1980 for organizing and promoting Cricketing activities in Riyadhand the Central Region. Since its formation it has been successful in bringing cricket as a game of sport among the Saudis and Expatriates working in the region. Cricket has been greatly benefited from the support of RCA Patron in Chief HRH General Dr. Prince Abdulaziz Bin Nasser Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. RCA is also associated withSaudiCricketCenter which is affiliated with International Cricket Council since 2003.
RCA is a non-profit organization which aims to contribute in spreading the game while promoting competition, discipline and hard work among the youth. The members of the RCA comprise players from all walks of life encompassing doctors, engineers, bankers, corporate managers and others.
Every year RCA cricket teams have increased in numbers and at present there are 40 teams participating in the League in different tournaments. RCA with its objective of promoting cricket at the grass root level is working for developing aCricketAcademywhere young cricketers will be trained by specialists through structured coaching programs.
Major RCA Tournaments include T20 Tournaments, 40-Over Tournaments, Thursday Leagues, T10 tournament and Inter School T20 Tournament. RCAInterSchoolevent is also a major platform on which maximum opportunity is provided to the youth to play cricket by representing their schools. In addition, RCA-selected teams participate in interregional matches with cricket leagues of other regions (Jeddah, Dammam, Yanbu, Medina etc). In the past, RCA has also sent team to participate in tournaments inPakistanand UAE.
