Saudi ORIX Tournament 2012-13 Champions – Pak Shaheen, Attieh Steels and Serendib.
Finals of the Saudi ORIX Cricket Tournament and RCA Thursday League were played recently. The tournaments were organized by Riyadh Cricket Association. In Saudi ORIX tournament, Pak Shaheen, Attieh Steels and Serendib emerged as champions of Al Kharj Zone, Huraymala Zone and Riyadh Zone respectively. Pak Shaheen also won the RCA Thursday League.
In Al Kharj Zone 40-over Final, Pak Shaheen held their nerve and beat Lahore Lions by 2 wickets in a closely contested game. After winning the toss and batting first, Lahore Lions was all out for 261. Faisal Khan was the pick of the bowlers for Pak Shaheen and took 5 wickets. Ibrar Ul Haq and Abdul Salam also bowled well and got 2 wickets each. Pak Shaheen lost wickets at regular intervals in pursuit of the target, but finally achieved the target in 37.4 overs. Abdul Waheed was the top scorer with 80 runs, Abdul Salam made 42, Ibrar 30 and Abdul Wahab 21. Faisal Khan was declared Man of the Match.
In Huraymala Zone T20 Final, Attieh Steels beat Thales by 79 runs. Attieh Steels batted first and posted a huge total of 317 in 20 overs thanks to scintillating centuries from Nasir (139) and Qamar (110). For Thales, Amjad, Fahad and Asim took 1 wicket each. In reply, Thales strived hard and managed 238 in 20 overs. Asim scored 76, Shahid 50, Imran 29, Fahad 24 and Amjad 22. Asif and Saqib grabbed 3 wickets each for Attieh Steels. Nasir was declared Man of the Match for his splendid innings.
In Riyadh Zone T20 Final, Serendib got better of Pak Force by 5 wickets. Pak Force batted first and scored 176 in 20 overs. Chanaka and Imran bowled brilliantly and took 4 and 3 wickets respectively. Serendib achieved the target in 18.3 overs. Chanaka made 37, Fiyaz 35, Rimzan 22, Fazil 22 and Ishan 21. Chanaka was named Man of the Match for his all round performance.
In RCA Thursday League Final, Pak Shaheen defeated Al Jomiah Shell by 9 wickets. Batting first Al Jomiah Shell was all out for 133. Faisal, Salam and Ibrar took 2 wickets each. Pak Shaheen achieved the target in 11.4 overs. Ibrar made 66 and Abdul Waheed remained unbeaten on 52. Ibar was declared Man of the Match.
Prize Distribution ceremony was held where Mr. Shaheen Amin CEO Saudi ORIX Leasing Company was the Chief Guest. In Al Kharj Zone, Yassir Maqbool got the prize of Leading run scorer, Ali Shahid Leading wicket taker and Zeeshan Haider Leading all rounder. In Huraymala Zone, Leading Run scorer was Fahad Malik, Leading wicket taker was Mohammed Bin Saleh and Leading all rounder was Mohammed Awais. In Riyadh Zone, Leading run scorer was Zeeshan Butt, Leading wicket taker was Amir and Leading All rounder was Mirza Jahangir Baig. In RCA Thursday League, Leading Run scorer was Asif Khan, Leading wicket taker was Abdul Wahid and Leading All rounder was Abdul Salam.
