RCA completes clean sweep against Al Qassim in Alhamrani FUCHS Intercity
Three RCA (Riyadh Cricket Association) teams visited Al Qassim to play intercity matches against Al Qassim. This intercity event was sponsored by Alhamrani FUCHS.
Al Qassim Intercity
In the first match, RCA XI beat Al Qassim XI by 141 runs. RCA XI has won the toss and elected to bat first, but lost the first wicket of their captain Nadeem Babar early. After the loss of the skipper’s wicket, Sami Arshad and Nasir Abbasi played delightful strokes all around the ground. Sami Arshad scored 120 and Nasir Abbasi 67. In the middle order, Rizwan Manzoor also played well and scored 55 runs. He was well supported by Kamran Hadi who remained unbeaten on 28 and Muzaffar Majeed who made a brisk 23. Faisal was the pick of the bowlers from Al Qassim and took 2 wickets. Wajid and Nadeem also chipped in with 1 wicket each. RCA XI compiled 334/5 in the allotted 30 overs. Chasing a huge target, Al Qassim XI was all out for 193 in 26.2 overs. Shamas was the highest scorer with 30. Other notable contributors included Imran and Rizwan who scored 27 and 22 runs respectively. For RCA XI, Javed took 3 wickets while Syed Usman got 2. Rizwan, Kamran, Zahid and Imran also got 1 wicket each. Sami Arshad was declared Man of the Match.
RCA XI
In the second match, RCA Patron XI defeated Al Qassim team by 22 runs in a keenly contested game. Batting first RCA Patron XI was all out for 233. Abdul Wahid was the highest scorer with fluent 95. Amin Bakhty made 30 and Waqas 26. Al Qassim XI bowlers bowled excellently and restricted the opposition to a reasonable total. Imran and Mudassir got 2 wickets each for Al Qassim. Chasing the target, Al Qassim team lost wickets at regular intervals and in the end was all out for 211. Asad played brilliantly and scored 53. Umar made 21 and Nouman 19. For RCA Patron XI, Saleem bowled a devastating spell of fast bowling and took 4 wickets. Abdul Wahid took 3 wickets while Sajid Khan got 2. Abdul Wahid was declared Man of the Match for his all round performance.
RCA PATRON XI
In the third match, RCA President XI beat Al Qassim by 8 wickets. Al Qassim batted first and was all out for 163. Hassan scored 33, Khawar 30 and Arab 22. RCA President XI bowlers maintained pressure on Al Qassim batsmen throughout the innings. Abdul Salam was the pick of the bowlers who took 3 wickets. Mansoor also got 2 wickets while Ibrar, Imran, Shoaib, Latafat and Samiullah got 1 wicket each. RCA President XI chased the target in 17.2 overs thanks to great knocks by Salman Butt and Omar Zafar who remained unbeaten on 67 and 66 respectively.
RCA PRESIDENT XI
A Prize Distribution Ceremony was held at the end of the matches where prizes were presented to the outstanding performers of all the matches. Senior Vice President RCA Abdul Karim Khan appreciated the officials of Al Qassim Cricket Board for the arrangements made by Al Qassim Cricket Board for the intercity event. President Al Qassim Cricket Board Zafar Tehseen thanked RCA for visiting Al Qassim to play the intercity matches. On this occasion, Riyadh Cricket Association has approved the request of Al Qassim Cricket Board for affiliation with RCA as a Zone. After the inclusion of Al Qassim Cricket Zone, Riyadh Cricket Association has four affiliated zones playing under the patronage of HRH Prince General Dr. Abdulaziz Bin Nasser Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud (Al Kharj Cricket Zone, Riyadh Cricket Zone, Huraymala Cricket Zone and Al Qassim Cricket Zone). Speaking on the occasion, RCA CEO Mr. Nadeem Babar has said that RCA will provide full support to Al Qassim Cricket Zone to promote Cricket in the region. He also suggested that all nonaffiliated Cricket associations in theKingdomofSaudi Arabiashould get affiliation with the affiliated Cricket associations of their region as a Zone. He said that this will give more opportunities to the players of the nonaffiliated leagues and this step will also strengthen the Saudi Cricket Centre which is very important to promote Cricket in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
